TROT LOVERS

Production is underway for KBS’s next Monday-Tuesday drama Trot Lovers, starring Jung Eun-ji (That Winter the Wind Blows) and Ji Hyun-woo (Queen Inhyun’s Man) in an opposites-attract romantic comedy about a girl’s journey to becoming a trot singer. . I’m always startled when actors come out of army and look so different, but Ji Hyun-woo went the whole nine yards — braces, highlights, and a LOT of time spent working out.


The drama will be your classic bickering romance between the haughty top star and the plucky girl with big dreams. Ji Hyun-woo plays a star musician with snooty taste who won’t deign to listen to trot music, and Jung Eun-ji is the hardworking breadwinner of her family who lives for trot alone. Her mother was a trot singer, and she wants nothing more than to walk in her footsteps. So she gets in all the practice time that she can squeeze in, singing her heart out at noraebangs 

Shin Sung-rok (You From Another Star) plays a young agency president, and Lee Se-young (Hot-Blooded Youth) is a trainee there who will become Jung Eun-ji’s biggest rival in everything. Recently joining the cast is Lee Yi-kyung, who has had small parts in You From Another Star, Sword and Flower, and Nine, but  mostly remember him from School 2013. He’ll play Ji Hyun-woo’s hoobae and rival, a character who holds nothing back when it comes to getting what he wants.

I like the warm and happy premise, and even if it’s predictable, I hope the music and the comedy will make it worth watching. That is, if you’re looking for excuses to tune in that aren’t: To see army abs.

Main Cast:

Joon Hyun as Ji Hyun Woo ( Male/ Mid to late 20s) Best star artist. A great composer who can do improvisations. He has knowledge of music popularity.
In one word, he's perfect. He is an Utra-Super hottie. But, unfortunately, he lacks humanity. His world only revolves around him. His first love was the Shine star Trainee, little miss perfect, Park Soo In. He believes that she in an angel, but he doesn't realize that she was just using him.
He likes and loves all types of music. Except country and trot. Why? There isn't much to explain. They're too rustic. Who knew that a guy like him would support a trot singer.. And would also fall in love with a female trot singer. And would risk his life for her life is a mystery.

Choi Chun Hee as Jung Eun Ji. ( Female/ Early to mid 20s )

Giving up dating, marriage, having children, social relationships and the dream of affording her own home, she's the generic  girl of the Ohpo generation ( those who have ti give up 5 things ).

She's the head of the family who has to support a trouble maker father and mature little sister. She was once noted as the dark horse of the Youth Marathon. But, due to pacing failure caused by extreme competetitiveness, she was sent off to the hospital right before the finish line. The diagnosis was sudden cardiac arrest. The disease was cured, but the problem was her spirit.
When she was at school, she was so unnoticeable that even the homeroom teacher didn't know her name. However, when she sings trot on stage, the plain little girl sparkles into a star. She is holding one hand up high in the air and shouting to the world, "I'm here, too!"
As a child, she grew up helping her mom sell side dishes at flea markets, listening to trot. Her father listened to his deceased wife's song whenever he was having a hard time and her sister Byul listened to trot as a lullaby. Growing up in these kinds of surrounding, it was pretty natural for Chun Hee to become a trot singer. Even though she can't read music, she can perfectly recite the melodies and the lyrics that she has heard before

Cho Geun Woo as Shin Sung Rok (Male / Around 30s) 

Young CEO of Shine Star Ent.Because his father put his estate on the line, he couldn't refuse his father's will and now he is running the company for a year. He is the businessman who know how to paint the big picture. He is always the winner in trades. He is always relaxed. He keep his calm. He's very cynical but humorous. Loves to joke. He's sexy and he is the man. He never beats around the bush. Ladies who flirt and pretend to be angels become as red as a tomato after he humiliates them.
He doesn't respect your age. Without knowing his place, he criticizes authority and pleases those those who watch him. But, he's not the type that protects the weak. Whenever he looked back, he always remembered Chun Hee being nosy. When he realized that Chun Hee was item, his businessman guts activated and started to find her charms to sell. As he looks, he becomes more aware of the charms that she holds that no one else knows about. Geun Woo thinks that Chun Hee is his masterpiece.

Park Soo In as Lee Se Young  (Female/ Early 20s)
 Joon Hyun's first love. The Shine Star trainee who has excellent beauty. The music industry's godmother, Yang Joo Hee, is her mother. Little miss perfect who has a successful mother and is an alumni of a prestigious college. Her dream it be like her mother, Joo Hee, who is very strong. She has been wanting to be a singer till now and her debut stage is ready for her.
She uses Joo Hyun, who is in love with her, and his talent to receive a song. When Joo Hyun become a failure, she ignores him and flirts with Geun Woo instead however, she is jealous when Joo Hyun shoows his affections towards Chun Hee. Also, when Joo Hun makes a comeback and she find her own place she starts to show an obsession towards him.
She is outraged about how all the attention, including Joon Hyun's and Geun Woo's, that should've went towards her is now on Chun Hee. " Chun Hee took what should've  been mine!" she can't succumb to this fact. She starts to detest Chum Hee. She'll do   everything and anything to get her possessions back from Chun Hee
